Recognizing Stress In Yourself

Recognizing Stress In Yourself

Thinking Symptoms

  • Constant worry
  • Forgetfulness, feeling “scatterbrained”
  • Difficulty making decisions, second guessing yourself
  • Unable to concentrate on a task
  • Lost your sense of humor.

The overthinking brain cannot translate these thoughts into actions or positive outcomes, so therefore creates feelings of stress and anxiety. The brain triggers the “fight or flight” mode.

Emotional Symptoms

  • Anxiety
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Feeling powerless
  • Frequent mood swings such as:
    1. Anger
    2. Frustration
    3. Sadness
    4. Nervousness
    5. Irritability
    6. Insecure

Emotional stress involves the experience of negative affects.

Physical Symptoms

  • Racing heart
  • Headaches
  • Exhaustion
  • Upset stomach
  • Muscle tension
  • Not feeling like yourself

Stress can cause physical pain in your body if it’s not taken care of properly.

Please! Go check out my posts about ways to recover from stress and anxiety.
Even if it’s just the monday blues.

Take care of you!

Affirmations of the Week!

Affirmations of the Week!

Hello!

Welcome, to this week’s Affirmations of the Week!

Positive Affirmations Every Monday!

Many of us struggle daily with our inner negative Nancy. Although, I have discovered a way that helps me to block out negative thoughts. I like to write down positive quotes and affirmations that make me feel confident and more at peace.

When I find myself in a mood for the day, I refer back to the positive quotes and affirmations I’ve previously written to help snap out of the negativity. Happiness is a choice you have to choose everyday. I know all too well, how easy it can be to fall into that overthinking cycle of negativity, and how difficult it can be to get out. That’s the reason I make these posts every Monday to help others like me break that cycle.

Affirmations

  • I trust I am exactly where I am supposed to be.
  • It’s okay to take time for myself.
  • Life is constantly giving me a beautiful, emotional experience.
  • I have the power to change my story.
  • I am on the right path.
  • Good things will happen today.
  • I am happy and grateful for having loving people in my life.
  • My heart is whole, healed, and happy.
  • Today I choose to think positively.
  • I know that everything in my life will be fine.
  • I find joy in the little things everywhere.
  • I am becoming all that I want to become in this life.
  • I am worthy of a positive cashflow.
  • I will become someone who feels naturally positive all the time.
  • I deserve a wonderful, positive, and magical experience in my life.

Quotes

Small shaky steps still count. Remember that, progress is progress.

Accept what is, let go of what was, and have faith in what will be.

There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.

John Green

I do not fix my problems.
I fix my thinking. The problems fix themselves.

To anyone suffering with

MENTAL ILLNESS

You are one badass mother fucker because nothing is more terrifying than battling with your own mind every single day.

Don’t look back,

my darling,

You’re not going that way.

Be patient with yourself. Nothing in nature blooms all year.

The slower the growth…

The deeper the roots.

Give yourself some credit for how far you’ve came.

Well there it is for this week’s Affirmations. I’m off to bed! I just got off work this morning, but I hope everyone has a beautiful day!
I’ll see you all soon!

What I’ve Been Up To

What I’ve Been Up To

I disappeared again.

Not that you noticed, but if you did.., I’m back!

My writing routine gets thrown off when I get back on the road for work.
I travel all over, mostly driving from place to place to remodel hardware stores. I’m the lead, meaning I run a team, everyone pulling me in different directions, calling my phone 24/7, receiving emails after emails – I feel a lot of pressure at the end of the day, week after week, and all I want is to decompress AKA sleep.
I have missed this. Sitting down to clear my head and creating something for myself is peaceful.
Anyways, here’s what I’ve been up to…,
Currently, my boyfriend and I (we both work/travel together, thankfully because this company will room you with a stranger!) Right now, they have us in a small farmers’ town in Indiana. And man, I tell you it is BEAUTIFUL here! I’m from Texas. I’m not used to the calm winds and rain, and it’s SO green! Everywhere looks like a high-class golf course. I’m only an hour away from Chicago, where my best friend since middle school lives. I hadn’t seen her since she moved back to Chicago our freshman year. Things were awkward at first, but I’m so grateful for a friend like her. ❤️

I’ve been super uptight lately and woke up feeling emotional.
I just knew I desperately needed to get on here again. Get my head straight. Talk to me nicely again, treat my mind and soul with peace.
When I blog, I feel at peace. I feel in control. My anxiety isn’t so loud.
I need this.

You will see me soon!

I’ve been slacking…kinda?

I’ve been slacking…kinda?

Well guys…
I moved back to Texas.

Sorry I’ve been away.

I originally was gonna take a week to give myself time to get settled and see the family without any extra stress on myself. One week turned into two..? How’d that happen?

Coming back felt pretty good. It’s nice to be back in familiar places, where you know the roads by heart. It was refreshing to see everyone too I missed my momma. ❤️ The week went by we got settled in, relaxed, socially drained. Then the next week came and still feeling drained/unmotivated to write something worth posting for my blog.

Although I’m proud that I kept writing in my journal, so technically I didn’t fail my goal to write everyday right?

To be real though, I feel setting my very first goal ever to writing everyday is a little hard on myself so the fact that I’m actually writing more than I ever have last year is progress enough.
Good Job Brittany❤️🌻

I need to remember it’s important to reward yourself for any progress made! Baby Steps

Anyways I am excited to bring you more positive vibes posts very soon!

You carry so much love in your heart.
Give some to yourself.

Daily Prompt Question: What makes you happy and why?(List 5)

Daily Prompt Question: What makes you happy and why?(List 5)

Be positive today!

Take a moment today to think about 5 things in your life right now that make you happy and explain why it makes you happy.

Here’s my list..

  1. Yoga
I love yoga and meditation, it’s a new hobby of mine that I’ve been excited to learn more about. Yoga/Meditation has TONS of physical and mental health benefits. Everyone should try it!
  2. Books
When I’m reading I feel completely transformed into what ever I am reading. I feel as if the world is paused and everything is peaceful around me. Books are movies for your head. When I finish reading a book front to back I get so satisfied and excited to start a new one.
  3. Journaling
Writing in my journal always makes me feel good. No matter what it is I write about, opening my book to a fresh page reminds me of the person I want to be. It keeps me motivated to continue working on my mental health. It helps to remind me I can be anything I want to be.
  4. Nintendo Switch
Lately I have been OBSESSED with my Nintendo Switch and video games in general. It all started with Stardew Valley then ever since I’ve played my switch everyday! All kinds of games, Ive been playing: Mario Maker 2, Overwatch, Poker, Graveyard Keeper ,etc.
Yeah.. I’m just obsessed and I’m not mad about it either. If you don’t have a Nintendo Switch i highly recommend! Then add me as a friend.😊
  5. Candles
Candles, incense anything colorful that smells good and glows in the dark makes me happy. When I am at home I always light my candles. It gives me peace and wholesome vibes. I don’t feel right if I don’t have a candle or incense burning.

Please, feel free to write your thoughts on the prompt. What makes you happy and why?(List 5)

I know

I know

It’s a new month

March..

I feel like nothings changed

Although I know that’s a lie.

I know I’ve made progress

And I won’t stop

This year I know

I’ll try harder than the last.

How To: Do The Work

Today’s the day,
Today we begin the long hard journey to discovering YOU!

This is what
”Doing the work”
Looks like:

  • Create clear boundaries
  • Be aware of energy you bring to any situation.
  • Understand the ways of coping that have protected you in the past may no longer serve you now. (You’ve grown & changed)
  • Bring awareness to your behavior patterns, responses, triggers, Etc. Validate those feeling and replace them with new healthy ones.
  • Journaling! A beautiful way to get to know yourself and see your growth and progress.
  • DO NOT BLAME when your reacting to an emotion or feeling. Take a moment, a few deep breaths, and figure out why you are having that response.
  • Always have accountability!
  • Allowing your trauma to be apart of you but not define you. Learn and grow from your trauma.
  • Be kind and compassionate to your inner child. Positive self encouragement and self love spreads peace to everyone around you.

Hope you enjoy!
